Sectional Champions. State 9th place.

Coach Jim Scott. Broke 10 school records. Captured Waubonsie Pentathalon Championship. Placed 9th out of 105 teams at stateover Christmas Break, the Pioneers represented U-High well. They captured first place out of 10 teams. At the combined A and A A State Meet at New Trier, the Team placed ninth out of 105 teams. All-State honors went to Ben Gerdes, Tom Horenkamp, Steve Scott, J.T. Almeida and Matt Cetin. All-American honors went to Ben Gerdes, Steve Scott and Matt Cetin and Tom Horenkamp recieved All-American Runner-Up honors. Ben Gerdes was named the team MVP.
