Coach Jim Scott. Record of 20-8-1. The team became the first from U-High to finish second at State since 1918. In the title match against defending champion New Athens, the team fell behind early, rallied ahead, then ultimately lose in the bottom of the seventh. Jim Scott, Don Manzke, Steve Girardi and Doug Deavers were named to the all-state team.
